Green Your Lemonade
So simple and surprisingly delish!
I am always looking for ways to get green veggies into my drinks and meals. Greens, such as spinach and kale, are my (not so) secret immune boosters. Sometimes, my creations still taste too green for my preference. But this recipe passed my taste test with gold stars. This lemonade is full of vitamin-C, vitamin-A, and antioxidants. Plus it looks bright green, but still tastes like regular lemonade!
Use a high powered blender to thoroughly mix the juice of 4-6 Meyer lemons, a sweetener of your choice (I've been using stevia, but honey is another good option), 6 cups water, and 1 cup fresh spinach. If you like ginger, add some fresh ginger or 1/4 tsp. powdered ginger to stimulate your digestion and spice up your life. When you blend it all together, the mix will foam quite a bit. Allow the juice to settle away from the foam. Pour the green bliss into your favorite glass and enjoy!
